Covid 19 in Latin America and the Caribbean, as in the whole world, has generated a great social, economic and health impact, which has caused thousands of deaths and a deep recession. The COVID 19 pandemic is not the cause; on the contrary, what it has revealed is the fragility of the capitalist economic model, which has aggravated its numerous inequalities and has transmuted chronic difficulties into an acute crisis that requires urgent attention.
