The women of Quebec present a a draft Charter to the Chantier de l’économie sociale.
Equality between women and men as a condition for the successful development of the social and solidarity economy (SSE) is a theme that has led several groups to take action and address the challenges of current inequalities. Accordingly, it would be highly recommended for all networks working in the social and solidarity economy to adopt a charter that would promote gender equality, such as the following charter.
The Working group “Women and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE)“, which organized a workshop in the framework of the GSEF 2016, gives a good example of such action by proposing this charter to their network which aims to highlight the real and unequal facts that women are currently facing in the SSE. It also aims to present the role of women in the social economy environment, to help and encourage women to take part in collective entrepreneurship and especially to ensure gender equality in the institutions.
