Laure Jongejans, European Citizen (French-Dutch, with Spanish origin) has an international career of 15 years, including 10 years spent with conviction in the field of Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Europe, Latin America (andean region), in West and Central Africa and Maghreb.
She oriented her career towards this way of “doing economy” for the first time from the international cooperation´s field, research activities, consulting, and subsequently she took part in a Mediterranean cooperative SSE platform (iesMed), finally entering a Catalan cooperative which promotes SSE and local development (Calidoscoop).
Taking over the responsibility of Eva Mascolo-Fortin who lives in Quebec, Laure exercises her role as Executive Secretary of RIPESS intercontinental network, from Catalonia, more specifically from Barcelona, possibly a “future European capital” of the SSE?
As a reminder, the RIPESS Intercontinental consists of a Board of Directors in which two representatives per member (5 RIPESS continental networks) are represented, as well as the international organization URGENCI. The Executive Secretary is at the service of this board to support the implementation/visibilization of members’ work at an international level, mainly through thematic working groups (International visibility, Communication & Global Panoramas, Strengthening of Capacities and Global View on the SSE, Women & the SSE), and intercontinental meetings. The political Coordination function is, at the moment, in charge of RIPESS LAC network of Latin America, through Raul Luna Rodriguez (President of the Peruvian Network of SSE, GRESP).
